TÜV SÜD awarded certificates for Mercedes-Benz Korea’s used car business process
- 20 used car dealerships of Mercedes-Benz Korea completed certification for their used car dealer processes together with TÜV SÜD, expecting to enhance competitiveness
- Mercedes-Benz Korea is to increase check points and relax criteria of purchase for customer satisfaction and transparency of its business next year.
On December 11, TÜV SÜD, a leading global TIC company, awarded certification to Mercedes-Benz Korea for its overall used car dealership business processes.
On December 10, there was a certification award ceremony for Wonju Hansung Automobile in the Mercedes-Benz headquarters. The event was attended by representatives from Mercedes-Benz Korea and TÜV SÜD Korea including Martin Schulz, Mercedes-Benz Products & Marketing Vice President, and Wolfgang Hock, President and CEO of TÜV SÜD Korea. This event was to commemorate the completion of certification for 20 used car dealerships of Mercedes-Benz Korea.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz Korea planned to complete the certification process of all dealerships by end of 2018. TÜV SÜD participated in those evaluation, covering Mercedes-Benz’s entirety of the used car business process, from purchase and reconditioning, to sales. Therefore, TÜV SÜD found that 20 showrooms met strict certification requirements after precise inspections.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz Korea is planning to strengthen its internal inspection procedure, while relaxing criteria of used car purchase. In order to strengthen quality and safety, 20 new inspection items will be added, considering 198 check points in total. Also, the criteria of purchase for used cars will be eased from 4 years within 100,000 km to 6 years within 150,000 km.
Meanwhile, the vehicles of Mercedes-Benz Korea are on an upward trajectory, getting great popularity from its customers with 10,527 car sales from January to November this year and 43.6% of growth rate year on year.
