TÜV SÜD presents to 1,400 audiences about safe autonomous driving in Seoul
On April 2nd, 2019, TÜV SÜD gave a presentation on ‘Safe and Secure Autonomous Driving: regulatory and technological challenges from the perspective of a technical service’ during the Seoul Motor Show Conference 2019. Themed as ‘Thinking Automobiles: The Future of Innovation,’ the conference was held as part of the Seoul Motor Show 2019 and attended by 1,400 audiences. Six guest speakers including Dr. Houssem Abdellatif from TÜV SÜD forecasted the future of mobility and suggested new vision and paradigm for the automotive industry.
With the advent of automation and connectivity, inspection of vehicle safety – one of the core tasks of Technical Services – is undergoing fundamental change. “With increasing safety requirements and simultaneously increasing the complexity of vehicle systems, it will be necessary to check conformity through all development and production steps regularly. By collaborating with both industry and regulatory bodies in projects such as PEGASUS (Germany) and CETRAN (Singapore), TÜV SÜD is investing in the development of test methods for automated and connected driving,” said Dr. Houssem Abdellatif, Global Head Autonomous and Connected Driving of TÜV SÜD.
