On 28 February 2014, the Serbian Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection issued the regulation on the energy efficiency labelling of electric mains-operated air conditioners with a rated capacity of ≤ 12 kW for cooling or heating. The regulation is modelled on Regulation (EU) No 626/2011, and thus contains provisions on supplier obligations to provide certain product information, requirements for the marking of the product with energy efficiency performance and the supply of a product fiche.
The annexes to the regulation contain sample product labels together with details of label design and content, and additionally indicate the methodology for determining the appropriate energy efficiency class to which the product belongs.
In accordance with Article 14, the regulation entered into force on 1 March 2014, with product suppliers and sellers bound by the requirements from 1 June 2014.
